Greetings Beautiful Family and Friends!
I trust that each of you have had a wonderful Summer! Please find the link to August Leslie’s Lane attached! As you know, I created this blog because I feel that everyone that wants a job ought to have one. It is my pleasure to give you all types of great leads for yourself, friends and family! Further, I don’t believe it’s really necessary to pay full price for most things that a lot of companies are willing to discount or give away for completely FREE! I try to keep my ear to the ground to let you know about all of these great things available to you! I want to thank each of you for your support of Leslie’s Lane and for sending information to me on a regular basis! You are awesome and I appreciate your kindness! Please enjoy! Thanks so much and have a wonderful week!
“I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” — Psalm 34:1
Last year, I decided to do a Garage Sale because I had so much stuff in the garage, attic and all of the utility rooms! It was so successful, I thought that my editors at ESSENCE might want me to write a short piece about it! They loved the idea and had me to write a full length feature!!! How cool is that! It appeared in the June issue with Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry on the cover! Although ESSENCE does not upload it’s articles, someone included it in their blog! Please check out this link and maybe you can have one yourself! Best of luck!
Okay! I love Groupon! You can check them out at http://www.groupon.com. You buy substantially discounted certificates for restaurants, events, spa, home, auto and shopping. They have expanded to Groupon Goods. What I really like is that they partnered with my favorite discount travel website called Expedia to present Groupon Getaways! How cool is that!
Okay! I love Scoutmob too! They offer a lot of the same services as Groupon. But this is what makes it wayyyyyyyyyyy better! You use the app on your cell phone and just press the button when you are ready to get your 50% off discount off a meal or other service! What’s really cool about Scoutmob is that you can find locations nearby. Say you’re 40 minutes from your home and you’re not familiar with the area. Just press find restaurants nearby and it will give you the ones on Scoutmob with the half off or more deal! They even offer completely FREE deals! Please go to http://scoutmob.com/.
Okay! My personal favorite is Halfoffdepot.com! That is because out of all of the discount websites, it sends around emails that give you 50%, 60% or even 70% off the already half off item! In other words, if I buy a $20 restaurant gift certificate for $10, I get even more off. So…………… on the day they are offering EXTRA 70% Off, I get a $20 restaurant gift certificate for $3.00! REALLY!!!! I’m not joking! I just bought several certificates last week when they did the EXTRA 70% off!
Please check out this article on how to find restaurants that are half off! We’ll yeah…… okay…… I wrote it!Emoji

Going to Chicago anytime soon? You have to check out these hotspots! Thanks J.T.!
Subject: Re: Can you help my friend with Chicago Hotspots?
Glad to help!
Here are my favorite places:
Pizano’s Pizza (The Loop location) – Oprah’s favorite pizza is from here – the cheese is from Wisconsin and is AMAZING! I like the Tavern Style (thin crust, cut in squares, with cheese to the edges – which is what most locals eat normally – they only eat deep dish when their friends come visit and want to eat deep dish, so I’ve heard). The deep dish is great too and the deep dish pizza dessert is good too. (http://www.pizanoschicago.com/)
Italian Fiesta – President Obama and family’s favorite pizza – Michelle Obama would get to go here as a child when she made good grades, so now this tradition has been passed down to the girls. This pizza was also catered in to DC for the inauguration all the way from Chicago. There is no place to sit, though. It’s a hole in the wall take out only. But, the Sausage Garlic pizza (is thin crust) is AMAZING!! It’s one of my favorite pizzas all time. (http://italianfiestapizzeria.com/)
Yolk – if you like sweets, this place is awesome. My favorite breakfast is the Red Velvet French Toast. Wow!! (http://eatyolk.com/)
Doughnut Vault – Amazing donuts. The chocolate glazed from here is amazing, although I don’t normally rave about a chocolate glazed donut. They open at 8am on Tuesdays through Fridays and 9:30am on Saturdays and close when they run out of donuts. There is usually a long line at 8am, so you may want to arrive around 730am and just wait in line for them to open. The donuts are worth it. It might be cash only, but I don’t recall. They are closed Sundays and Mondays. (http://thedoughnutvault.tumblr.com/)
Portillo’s – I love their Italian Beef sandwich. I get mine with extra juice, in fact I ask for it “dunked” which means they stick in entire sandwich bread and all into the au jus. AMAZING! Their chicago style hotdogs are also incredible. (http://www.portillos.com/)
Chicago Pizza Tour – if you can still get a ticket, this is an incredible experience that will take you to 4 different pizzerias to try pizza at each and to see and hear about Chicago as you travel on the Chicago Pizza Tour bus from place to another. Awesome experience! (http://www.chicagopizzatours.com/)
Enjoy!! Eat some food for me!! (Can you tell I like food?) 🙂
One more detail I just remembered. I’m not sure if Italian Fiesta sells drinks, so you may want to pick a couple up at the CVS or other place and bring it with you to the pizzeria and plan to eat the pizza outside of Italian Fiesta or just inside standing at the counter. It seems like a lot of hassle, but I think it’s worth it to say that you ate at the Obamas’ favorite pizzeria and because the pizza really is AWESOME!!
You don’t want to forget your coupons when you go to the grocery store! Please check out Savingstar.com and Coupons.com.
