I bring this to your attention because there are now more ways to qualify for HomeSafe. Not only has the assistance expanded from 18 to 24 months, but homeowners who have suffered a medical hardship, a death in the family or a military hardship can now qualify for assistance.

I’m proud of our office’s work with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) – which runs HomeSafe GA – to get the word out about the program and help get DCA’s Fourth District outreach off the ground. For more on HomeSafe GA qualifications and how it might help you, a family member or your neighbor, click HERE. To apply online, click HERE.

GRANTS PAGE: Another area we take very seriously is getting information to our businesses, local governments, non-profits, health clinics and colleges and universities about grants available through the federal government. First thing every morning, our office updates our Federal Grants Process, Foundation Grant Resources, and Non-profit Coalition Resources page on the website. Featured grant opportunities include funds from the Department of Labor, Housing & Urban Development, National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Justice, Small Business Administration, the Department of Health & Human Services and much, much more.

For more, visit our Grant Resources page HERE.

ANNUAL ARTS COMPETITION: I’m pleased to announce this year’s 2014 Congressional Arts Competition, my annual event displaying the community’s finest young artists. Eligible high school students throughout the district, which includes parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett, and Newton counties and all of Rockdale County, are encouraged to apply and display their talent in this year’s contest. More than $23,000 in scholarships are available from the Art Institute of Atlanta and the Savannah College of Art & Design. For more, click HERE or call 770-987-2291.
