I began the New Year relaxed, refreshed, revived and reinvigorated! I have my brief retreat on Sapelo Island to thank for that! The Painted Bunting Cottage
The male Painted Bunting with hues of blue, green, yellow and red is one of most beautiful birds in North America.
Rates: $240 per night (min two-night stay) or $1600 per week (plus sales tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver)
Offering a stunning view of the ocean, this cozy cottage boasts a vibrant décor of the colorful of male bird. Lounge in the intimate living room while watching the flat screen tv or sleep the morning away in the relaxing, pillow top queen size bed. You will relish in the comfort of the really cool, unique outdoor bed on Sea Breeze porch.
The Candy Cottage Suite at B J Confectionary
Candies of all colors are confections having sugar as its primary ingredient.
Rates: $150 per night (min two-night stay) or $1000 per week (plus sales tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver)
The bright, colorful, contemporary suite features a lovely bed, sofa and breakfast bar and stools. There is the added bonus of an outdoor screened-in gazebo for dining or enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
The Tea Cake Cottage Suite at B J Confectionary
A tea cake is a pastry, cookie, bread or cake that is sometimes served with afternoon tea.
Rates: $175 per night (min two-night stay) or $1,150 per week (plus sales tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver)
This luxurious suite featuring bold and beautiful colors of black and gold is named for a favorite cookie of Annita’s grandmother. Annita was our host and is a fellow travel journalist. The Tea Cake Suite is nestled beneath 200 year old live oaks with hanging Spanish moss. It shares the spacious, outdoor screened-in gazebo with the Candy Cottage.
The Wood Stork Cottage
The Wood Stork is an American wading bird that builds a large stick nest in forest trees.
Rates: $225 per night (min two-night stay) or $1,482 per week (plus sales tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver)
This is a striking, spacious two-bedroom cottage features a Jack and Jill bath. All of the earth tones make for a very relaxing, inviting environment.
The Birdhouse Cottage
A birdhouse is a box for nesting of birds and usually resembles a house.
Rates: $375 per night (min two-night stay) or $2,500 per week (plus sales tax, cleaning fee and damage waiver)
We stayed at the absolutely beautiful Birdhouse Cottage for our AWESOME Sapelo Island Girls ONLY Weekend and Press Tour. The spectacular view of the ocean is both calming and relaxing! I didn’t want to leave! The Birdhouse Cottage has two lovely master bedrooms featuring their own bathroom. The entire cottage is decorated exquisitely with striking furniture as well as lovely bird adornments and accents. The upscale chalet features a large family room with flat screen TV, fully equipped kitchen with the innovative K-cup coffee maker and a twin-sized outdoor bed on Pelican Porch.
